Aldrington Tunnel, Hove.
There have been barriers blocking off Aldrington Tunnel up until recently. Brighton & Hove Council have now removed them, it seems after receiving pressure from a cycling group.Residents/groups representing the disabled community have not been consulted by the council and no risk assessment has been carried out on the dangers this could cause to pedestrians. There is no safe walkway/pavement to separate pedestrians from cyclists riding through the tunnel.Alarmingly, no discussion / consultation with ANY elected Councillors has taken place and worried residents have been raising complaints/concerns about why the barrier has been removed as this is clearly dangerous and could cause an accident.
Our Councillors will continue to support and listen to residents and ensure that their voices are heard by Brighton & Hove Council.
